Now you’ve probably already seen a ton of photos from the Colors 7-years celebration party at The Grand Hyatt last night (mostly of celebrities posing up a storm on the red carpet!) but wouldn’t it be nice if someone took you INSIDE the party for a change and showed you what it’s like in the VIP? I thought you might like that, so here’s a little selfie-inspired tour of the most epic party I have been to this year! xoxo
1. Sridevi & Boney Kapoor Showed Us Who’s Boss!
We walked in precisely at the same time as Sridevi & Bonny Kapoor (which meant that it would be a good 5 minute wait to cross the red carpet before the shutter bugs were done doing their thing!) But on the upside, I got to see this!
After posing together, the paparazzi asked for solos of Sridevi and hubby Boney very calmly went and chilled on the side till they were done, admiring her from a short distance. Which leads me to believe that they’ve truly nailed the whole Bollywood marriage thing. Also did you seeSridevi’s first Instagram post about her teddy bear of a husband? Yup, nailed it.
2. Anil Kapoor Told Us About The Fountain of Youth.
While the party was spread across a giant banquet hall and foyer (with smokers on the veranda) the real action was happening in a smaller VIP room reserved for the industry and channel A-Listers (and a few lucky journos like me!) That’s where we ran into Anil Kapoor and since I had met him just recently at the Dil Dhadakne Do trailer preview he remembered me. (Here’s that selfie!)
Anyway, we chatted about how he’s on Twitter and Instagram and he told us that his daughters Sonam and Rhea Kapoor are the ones who convinced him to do it. Also that Rhea had dressed him for the party too! And then we noticed how amazing he looks close up, like he has barely aged. I mean, is that the face of a 58-year-old? So we asked him his secret to which he said, “family.” His family keeps him young and he was beaming as he said so. Boom.
PS. I’m wearing a shirt because I raced over from speaking at the UN Youth Conclave all the way in town, so I had no time to change! But on the upside I took these awesome pictures with the boys from AIB…
…and I got a shout out from Varun Gandhi (he remembered we were in school together and jokingly said, “…now I can fulfil one of my life’s ambitions and be featured on MissMalini.com!” Hahaha #epic and now yes, you’re totally on my blog!
Oooh and I got to play our spanking new YouTube channel trailer for everyone, yay! Take a look.

3. Kalki Koechlin Taught Us How To Pronounce Her Name!
So the backstory to this is slight complex so stay with me now! My friend Bavidra Mohan who works with Acumen was also speaking at the same UN Conclave I was (because we’re awesome hahaha, kidding) and he said something that blew my mind. So obviously I tweeted it!
Psst! Devraj Sanyal and Nikita Sanyal are friends I’ve practically known forever, he’s a ninja (MD at Universal Music by day, lead singer of the heavy metal band Brahma by night!) Niki makes the yummiest deserts at Bombake – so check it out get your fix on Facebook!
So there you have it, and I hope you enjoyed it 🙂 now it’s past my bedtime and it’s a school night so it’s time to get some beauty sleep! Kisses.
